Blues....

Here is another go at sponging...I wanted to make it look like a water ripples...ahh well :P

Colors used:
Base coat: OPI Natural Nail Polish

Base for Nail- Claire's Mean Green (Green); Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Blue-Away (Light Blue); China Glaze Frostbite (Dark Blue)

Top coat: Sinful Colors Nail Junkie (1 Coat)

Any regular make up sponge will do.

Green is the color

So yes, GREEN is one of my favorite nail polish color!! (in any form-shimmer, glitter, holo, flakies) I picked up these 3 shades from Sally Hansen SALON line at a local sale and I was very pleased with my haul =D
Sallly Hansen Salon-Project Runway

  • A dark green (closet color match would be China Glaze Watermelon Rind) almost like a mix of dark British racing green and Pine green.
  • Tons and tons of golden shimmer in the mixture and I can't tell you how beautiful the shimmer looks...it shines at every angle and adds such a depth to the polish....love love love the shimmer!
  • Great application with a very formula, only down side :( is that the brush is really small or narrow and takes a couple extra strokes to get even coverage.
Base Coat- OPI Natural Nail base; 3 coats of project runway.
Top Coat of Seche Vite doesn't affect the shimmer one bit...yay !

Sally Hansen Salon Honeydew

  • Honey dew as the name says it...is a dewy Jade green.
  • 2 coats to be opaque but 3 coats really shows the color at its best.

Sally Hansen Salon Forsythia

Hmm how do I describe this color..it's a murky Yellow at its best or a dull Pear at its worst!
  • Takes 2 coats to go opaque and application was smooth.
  • A very subtle iridescent  white/pearly shimmer is in the bottle although it doesn't show on the nail.

Sally Hansen Intsa-Dri  Blue-Away
Stamping done using Konad M79 ..Not my favorite print or design :|

Colors used:

3 coats of Sally Hansen Blue Away
1 coat stamping done with China Glaze Frostbite

Nail Art 1.0

Woo-hoo I tried sponging technique for the first time and it's not as hard as I thought it would be, actually it wasn't hard at all and I quite enjoyed doing this =) I used a regular make up sponge and finished it off with a top coat.

  • Colors used for base: Yellow-Sally Hansen Lightening Eclair;  Orange: NYC Spring Street; Pink: China Glaze Rich & Famous.
  • First started with Yellow, then sponged lightly with orange and finally with pink.
  • Animal (zebra) print Konad Plate M57
  • Top Coat-Seche Vite, make sure all layers of nail polish dry before applying Seche Vite as it does cause the print to run.

Blue-Away

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Blue-Away. It's a sky blue color which doesn't seem too pastel-y like all the summer colors out right now.

  • Very pigmented and was opaque in two coats.
  • Great consistency of formula and very smooth application, mostly because of the brush.
  • No chipping after 3 days but started to wear off at the edges which could also be because of Seche Vite as top coat which does shrink nail polish.

My berry berry nails...

Inspired by one of my favorite fruits...strawberries! Tried nail art or using a nail brush for the first time and it wasn't a very good one hence the lines for my leaves so messed up :P

Colors used:

Red- Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Racey Rouge
Dots- NYX Carnation
Leaves: Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Green with Envy and a random mini small dark green bottle from Sally Girl collection

Looking forward to this...yesh!!

Look at how pretty the top row looks...it has my name written all over it =P I'd even change my name for a month if I could get all 6 colors the day it comes out.

Urban Ballerina Collection

Here is the uber chic Urban Ballerina Collection from Sephora by OPI. Got this a few weeks back and decided to give all the colors a try. Now let's see...the colors are gorgeous dah-ling but the nail polish itself not so muchl.
  • The bottles are the mini ones and hence the brush is too small (shitty) and takes a long time to finish one full mani :(
  • Application was a nighhtmare with so much streaking and dragging, not the best formula..even though I like my other polishes from Sephora by OPI.

Break a Leg-Warmer

A pretty dark grey cream, perfect for stamping! It is more on the blue-ish side as opposed to a charcoal grey.

Leotard Optional

A tan cream shade which is very close to my skin tone and perfect for neutral/skin tone manis...

Top Coat- Seche Vite

Who's Spinning Tonight?

Ahhh marvelous purple..how you never look bad. Purple is one of my favorite colors and I like this purple. It is a very bright eggplant kind of purple where the pigmentation does not make it look too blue based. A very rich color and great for nail art while making dots!

The Way Tutu His Heart

Well well well...the least of my favorite color of the bunch. It's supposed to be a very sheer white/pink creme color where it's sheerness is supposed to be the key factor but it just seemed too white to me (ghost hands) with a very prominent VNL...big no no for me. A touch of more pink would have made this color perfect as a delicate sheer pink where I would actually like to look at my hands =P

Nail Junkie according to Sinful Colors...

A beautiful deep color...Looks like I'm staring into a picture or 3D.

  • Base is a sheer aqua-green jelly with equal mix of fine green shimmer, golden glitter and round holo specks.
  • Application was so smooth but it took 3 generous coats for the color to darken and some what hide the VNL.
  • Being 3 coats there was no chipping or rough edges after 3 days of wear.
  • A definite must have as it is but I've read that this comes close as a *dupe* for China Glaze Atlantis with CG Atlantis having a more a opaque finish with just 2 coats.
  • No top coat to let the holo specks really shine...

Roses come with being rich & famous

Just tried to change things up a bit and added some pretty white roses on an already bright canvas!

China Glaze Rich & Famous (3 Coats)

Stamping Color- Sally Hansen Xtreme wear White On
Plate M65
Top Coat- Seche Vite

Rich & Famous Oohh

A nice bold pink. It's a very pigmented pink and hard to decipher whether more on the red fiery magenta side or a pastel bubble gum pink. (sorry about my silk wrap on middle finger showing through)
  • Goes opaque with 3 coats.
  • Application was not as smooth as I had anticipated but this is my only China Glaze which I feel this way about. As you can see
  • Didn't chip for 3 days and then I decided to just touch around the edges with a bit of color and it lasted a whole another day.

Worth My Weight Woot Woot !!

Perfect Nails ....Wow..I surely do feel like I have some bling on my nails and feel the weight of it..a very bright eye catching nail color
  • Let's see...it's an opaque golden, with golden shimmer, tiny few golden tiny glitter and small holographic glitter (this makes up for most of the glitter)
  • Gets a bit chunky with 3 coats but something about that makes me really want to keep looking at my nails =P.
  • Application was smooth with no streaking even though the formula is a bit thick.
  • Doesn't chip at all but is a mission to remove, so stick with two coats.
